Sponsor highlight: Belsoft

News belsoft sponsor by Jan Valdman

Our next Gold level sponsor, Belsoft,  is situated in the middle of great mountains of Switzerland and therefore they can post on Twitter top class views from their office and thus make other business partners jealous. Besides that, they are known as active members of the ICS community and true believers in IBM Connections. They often share their experience and great customer stories such as University of Zurich. Perhaps it is somehow related to their motto “doesn’t work does not exist”.

Seriously, Belsoft provides a variety of solutions in IBM Collaborations Solutions including platforms to increase your productivity, integration with third party systems, software engineering for individual applications, software licensing and management, training and security.

We are happy to welcome Belsoft again at one of our conferences.

News analytics, panagenda, sponsor by Jan Valdman

Hello again from the main tent. Let me introduce panagenda (yes, it is written with a small p), our long-term sponsor.

panagenda is a well know player in IBM Collaboration Solutions who always has something new to show us. panagenda develops a variety of products for IBM Notes/Domino and – of course – for IBM Connections.  As their motto is “make your data work for you”, panagenda’s products really provide valuable insight into your collaboration infrastructure and user behavior. Regarding IBM Connections, panagenda offers Connections Expert (CE), an analytical tool for your Connections environment, and Social adoption services.

panagenda usually sends the largest team to our conference and regularly occupies several speaking slots. Their sessions on administration or adoption (eh, on adaptation – sorry Luis ) are legendary so you don’t want to miss them – nor their booth.

Hi all,

many of you perhaps finish preparation for IBM Think but it is also a high time to introduce our nice sponsors without whom we can not run our Social Connections events. And Today it’s time for our Gold sponsor – The team from Kudos!

Kudos have been long time supporters of Social Connections and it is great to see them make the long trip to Vienna!.

In addition to their widely used Kudos Badges and Kudos Analytics, they are showcasing some of their latest innovations around Connections and Watson Workspace.

Kudos Boards (Pink!) transforms Activities within IBM Connections into a visually manageable format. Leveraging the tried and true method known as Kanban, Kudos Boards features the ability to filter by person, priority or colour, and drag and drop your Tasks as activities progress or circumstances change. Now, Boards is available in the cloud, on prem, and for Connections Pink!

Buzzy for IBM Connections brings intelligent instant apps for IBM Connections and Watson Workspace. Empowering citizen developers to create cognitive apps within IBM Connections to engage both internal and external users, all in a matter of minutes!

Kudos Ideas is the teams latest innovation. Introducing a ideation space where peers can raise, review and vote on ideas across the workplace – whether for management, project, marketing, human resources or even team building activities, Kudos Ideas empowers colleagues to think proactively, innovate together, and execute on their ideas.

Social Connections 10 was our biggest North American event, and our third largest ever!

News soccnx, toronto, wrapup by Jan Valdman

Social Connections 10 community

I am high in the sky over Atlantic heading back to Europe so I have had several hours to think about a recap of our last event in Toronto. Wow, it was a blast again!

After many weeks of hectic preparations, the two conference days ran as racing horses. Now there is a time to recover, take some breath and shout “Oh my, we did it again!”

First of all, we had a fabulous event with more then 200 attendees, 18 sponsors, 64 sessions, and 70 speakers.View from the venue

Thank you all so much for coming!

We had all the ingredients that make a good event – a great venue (perhaps the best ever) with a VIEW of the nice city of Toronto, awesome speakers, exciting agenda, some great announcements and especially you – the attendees. All together, it created an atmosphere – as some say – “that no other user group has”.

Let me highlight just few items:

  • There was exclusive content delivered by IBM product managers and execs such as Luis Benitez, Baan Slavens, Rob Ingram and Chris Crummey.
  • We had multiple great case studies from big, well-known customers such as Lowes, TD Bank and RBC
  • Well-known analysts Dion Hinchcliffe and Alan Lepofsky shared their insights
  • We saw Project Toscana code running live for the first time!
  • We have seen what’s new and coming in IBM Connections
  • We practiced Design Thinking once again
  • Our sponsors announced new products and enhancements (such as ConnectionsExpert from panagenda, our spotlight sponsor)
  • We had a new mobile app which received a very warm welcome
  • There was a masterclass on Connections adoption from Luis Suarez
  • There was a closing “Ask IBM” session moderated by Ed Brill
  • Over 100 people watched our live stream the first day
  • And last but not least we had great fun, including a gala event in the Hockey Hall of Fame (where all our attendees could touch the famous Stanley Cup!)

At the moment, we are collecting presentations from our speakers and will publish them on SlideShare over the next week or so. All “official” photos have been already uploaded to Flickr and we hope that some people find a new profile image there 🙂 If you have your own photos or videos that you want to share, then just let us know.

We announced that the next event will take place in Southern Europe late this year, with more details coming in August.

I hope that everybody enjoyed the event as much as the Social Connections team did! Thank you all again for coming, and special thanks to IBM Canada and to our sponsors, as without them we could not run these events.

Enjoy the summer and see you all at Social Connections 11!

Jan, Bill, Christoph, Doug, Femke, Lars, Maria, Martin, Simon and Wannes
