LetsConnect update – virtual 2020, physical 2021

News letsconnect by Maria Nordin

woho

Dear friends!

As you know we and everybody else needs to adapt to the current situation in the world. I can be easy or it can be tough. But no challenge is too tricky to solve for an agile bunch of people like us! We and you work in a collaboration community driven by change, and most of us are used to evolving work situations and new ways of working. So when the world is constantly changing, we find ways.

All of us testifies that we now see an increase in the use of collaboration software within companies. Digital workplaces, chat tools, meeting rooms. All of it. So we feel it is more important than ever to arrange meeting places were we can discuss these needs.

We have updates for you!

LetsConnect 2020 will be a virtual one

Our original plan was to have the conference 28-29 September, so we are sticking to those days, but extending them to the whole week. 28 September – 2 October 2020.

The reason is that we will spread out the sessions during the days to make it easier for you to follow along. You do not now have to book a whole day in front of your computer. You can now pin point the sessions that intrigues you and attend those.

The event will be held to match several time zones. We welcome attendees from all over the world.

One session we are sure will intrigue you is the keynote with Danielle Baptiste, Associate Vice President, Product Management at HCL Technologies. She will update us on the latest on HCL Connections.

We will also fill the week with deep dive technical sessions, customer stories on using HCL Connections sessions, best practices sessions and more.

You will also have the possibilities to network with the community and ask experts in our virtual interest rooms.

Do you want to do a session on the virtual event? Submit your abstract here: https://letsconnect.world/submit-abstract/

More information will follow.

LetsConnect 2021 will be in Madrid!

We of course look to the future. LetsConnect 2021 will take place in Madrid. One year later than planned, but hey. Let’s look forward to see the vibrant community and eat that tapas plate a little longer.

Book your calendar for 27-28 September 2021!

More information about this conference will follow. But most important, put it in your calendar.

Social dinner with lots of networking

News by Maria Nordin

Grüss Gott in München!

Welcome to Munich and Bavaria.

For the people of Munich and visitors alike, the beergardens of the city are a kind of paradise on earth. This is where people sit with friends at long wooden tables under the shade of mighty chestnut trees enjoying a “Mass Bier” (a liter mug of beer!) .

Therefore it is not a surprise that we invite all our attendees of Social Connections to an evening at the largest beergarden in Bavaria; Königlicher Hirschgarten. Chronicle says it used to be a hunting lodge for the electors, until it changed 1791 to the restaurant.

So welcome to Social Connections Social Dinner!

You must have a valid ticket to the Social Connections conference to get in.

Monday 16 September 2019 19:30

Session highlight: Enterprise Social Network – why it is important for you! By Lee Bryant

News connections, enterprise, esn, hcl, highlight, lee bryant, network, session, social by Maria Nordin

This session we will present now we are very excited about. It’s all about your workplace, right? And how you as an employee are an important piece of a large cake being your organisation, and what can be done to continuously improve the employee experience.

Learn from Lee Bryant, Postshift, how a mature Enterprise Social Network (ESN) can be a powerful force for organisation change and improvement, and not just a better platform for communication and workplace coordination.

Using the ESN as a connected platform for continuous improvement of the organisation and its processes and practices is a very practical use case that can help engage people who do not yet see the value in sharing their work in the open, and can help foster a culture of emergent leadership, where everybody is encouraged to fix problems getting in the way of new and better ways of working. This talk will share some ideas about how to do this, and how to engage leaders to win their support.

  • Why so little focus on employee experience?
  • An agile approach to the continuous improvement of employee experience
  • Capability and service mapping using your ESN
  • Identifying and fixing broken processes
  • Identifying potential for automation
  • The role of leaders – how to get them on board

Join us in Munich for this and more about ESN, Connections and Working out Loud.

Call for abstract extended! Portal added to the agenda

News by Maria Nordin

What a weekend! If the rest of the team just as me had push notifications turned on on their phones, they also noticed the “ding” each time a new abstract came in. We are very happy that so many of you took time off the weekend and submitted your abstract!

But you know us, we always want to do more. Therefore we have decided to extend our call for abstract 1 week. New, and very last, deadline is Sunday 7 July, midnight CET. We do this for 2 reasons:

  1. We have been approached by some of our speakers asking for an extension. We know how it is! Work is overwhelming, the project took longer time etc. Yes, now is you chance!

  2. New topic on the agenda! Times are achanging and we always want to evolve our conference to the better. Therefore we are adding sessions about “HCL Digital Experience” to our agenda. So if you, or if you know somebody who would like to do a session about that, submit your abstract now!

Connections will sooner than later be in the hands of HCL and we all look forward to that! Especially since Social Connections is a key part of HCL’s communication strategy for Connections.

Social Connections – the place to learn, attend, speak, network about Connections!

As always we are looking for speakers who are passionate about collaboration solutions. It can be deep-dive technical sessions, best practices, use cases, success stores, catastrophe stories. Or something unique, that just you thought of. For inspiration, see below.

Do you have any questions? We are here for you: info@socialconnections.info

We are inviting sessions in the following tracks:

  • Administration – sessions relating to administering collaboration platforms. It could be the design and build of infrastructure, upgrading, managing users, migrating to the cloud, integration with other services or platforms etc. Sessions relating to cloud, hybrid or on-premises infrastructures are welcome!
  • Case Study – We love case studies! Sessions focused on telling the story of existing collaboration projects. And the more honest the better! Ideally these sessions should feature at least one speaker from the company that uses the platform, but they could be accompanied by a vendor or partner.
  • Development – how and why to develop for these services. We’d love you to share your tips, techniques and experience of developing solutions or applications, where you might hit issues, and how you overcome them.
  • Future of Work – sessions in this track should explore topics around the area of improving the productivity of individuals and organisations through the use of collaboration platforms.
  • Management and Adoption – sessions that take a higher-level view of the issues, challenges and opportunities that surface when deploying collaboration platforms.
  • Spotlight – this track is designed to give new (or experienced) speakers the chance to present a short session on a topic of their choice. Think of it as being akin to TED talks, but within the framework of Social Connections. You can choose to use a presentation deck or not, to prepare earnestly or to speak from the heart, the choice is yours. What we’re after is insight, interest and passion – the rest is up to you!
  • New Technology – We also want to reach out to new things, if you feel you have an interesting session on a new technology, please submit in this track.
  • Sponsor – for those organisations that are sponsoring the event at Gold level or above, there is the option to submit a Sponsor session for the conference.
  • Workshop – For hands on training. Please supply all information needed on what you need to be able to run it.
  • Academic – For faculty, IT staff or even students of any academic institution who want to share what they have achieved with collaboration platforms and how they see the future of collaboration.

After a period of long thoughts, pondering, discussions, interviews we have decided the next location for our fantastic collaboration and networking conference known as Social Connections.
