Enterprise Collaboration Platforms: Understanding Collaborative Work and Designing the Technical Solution

In recent years office workplaces have evolved from primarily physical employer-owned premises to hybrid settings where some employees work at the employer’s premises and others work remotely. The recent growth in hybrid and remote working, which intensified during and following the COVID-19 lock-downs, means that enterprise collaboration tools and systems have become even more important in organisations. However, many of the resulting ‘quick-fix’ solutions for Enterprise Collaboration are formed from patchworks of tools that may not provide a viable solution in the long run and will need to be redesigned if organisations are to achieve the desired benefits. In this presentation, we summarise our recent work with user organisations and provide a structure for thinking about an organisation’s collaborative working and collaboration software requirements. We offer insights into building the technology solution for a performant Enterprise Collaboration Platform that fulfils the needs of a user organisation in the long-term.

Building an established Social Intranet at KOSMOS

“In this session we will share insights on how we have helped our customer KOSMOS to beautify and rebuild their HCL Connections Communities.
Improvements were made by integrating other tools and solutions into Communities or by supporting Community managers when starting a new Community and making sure they used the best components for the needs of the audience.
With the integration of HCL Leap applications into Connections, we also made sure that the missing piece of workflows or forms is an issue of the past.
In this non-technical session you will also hear from the customer about how the users reacted to the changes.”

Build and integrate Leap apps into your Community

New to Connections Cedar is an included entitlement (ltd) to HCL Leap! Building applications is very easy with HCL Leap and the sky is the limit when it becomes to creating tools to address a number of use cases. Community owners can embed Leap apps into their own Communities without being trained developers. Citizen Development comes reality with the included Leap integration into Connections Communities!

Things we learned, improved, simplified going to container-based delivery with Connections

”
In this session we’ll give an overview and demonstration of the new Connections 8.0 delivery model via Harbor repository, OpenSearch and Mongo v5 migration and how we use Ansible scripting to automate the deployment process.
Ansible, Harbor, OpenSearch/Mongo upgrade, continuous delivery and more – filled with demos and deep technical expertise. This session is inspired by our lessons learned from Connections Component Pack, but is also valuable for non-Connections admins.”
