Our agenda is out! Better than ever. Time to buy your ticket to the event!

News agenda, agenda social connections, ibm, philadelphia, speaker by Maria Nordin

The day has come. We now know who will be a speaker and what they will speak about at Social Connections 13 in Philadelphia on April 26-27, 2018.

We have an agenda!

We in the team always love this task. Extracting all the great abstracts from the database, compiling them in an Excel file and choose! But it is also one of our hardest tasks. Always. Because, with no exceptions, we always have a large amount of fantastic abstracts to go through. The range, the quality, the ingenuity. We never stop to be amazed.

Each conference is different to the other. News trends, new technique and solutions. Our speakers never cease to impress us. In the end we always aim to end up with a good mix of both technical and non technical sessions.

A developer, an administrator, a manager, an adoption consultant. All of them should be able to find something they like.

So please have a look at the 2018 spring edition of Social Connections!

We invite you all to participate in our great event! 2 days of networking, learning and fun.

The Heat Is On: The Agenda for Social Connections 10 in Toronto is published!

News 10, agenda, heat, published, socialconnections, toronto by Maria Nordin

The last week have been busy in the team! The weekly run, the dog walk, that extra coffee break or the after work with friends were all cancelled. Our joined forces has been pointed in one direction only. The Agenda!

First, thank you all for submitting such interesting and professional abstracts! Just to read through them all was a treat in itself, and to get to chose from them an even bigger one. I can reveal that our scheduled team meeting where we concluded our votes doubled in time and discussions ran high.

And now we are done! The agenda is published! The mix of sessions is awesome. Both within the different tracks and in total. You will surely recognize some familiar names among our speakers, but also a bunch of new ones. This is what I like most. Our community is constantly growing, moving changing, evolving. To the better!

For example we will give you insight in the very large company Lowe’s journey to become a Collaborative Company. And IBM’s Take on the Future told by Sarah Gibbons, Luis Benitez and Christopher Crummey.

We are also proud to present to you 10 fresh case studies! Learn best practices and listen to those who have solved problems you might struggle with right now.

Or an interesting Case Study: Win, Win, Win: Changing Attitudes, Adopting Socail and Going Green with Graham Acres, Brytek Systems Inc. and Delores Beier, A&W Food Services of Canada Inc. Last but not least Best and worst practices deploying IBM Connections with Christoph Stoettner and Nico Meisenzahl, panagenda.

So now, when we in the team (only momentarily) fold back our desk chairs, stretch our legs and gaze out through the window, you only got one thing to do:

Register for this amazing event which will give you sparking ideas, networking, knowledge sharing and social seeds planting.

/Maria (your friendly Social Connections team member)

P.S. Today we counted 18 IBM Champions who will speak, network and mingle around the conference. That number will most likely change.

We want you… to check out our agenda and join us for Social Connections 9!

News agenda by Lars Samuelsson

Social Connections 9Hey everyone!

After a short period of radio silence where we were getting everything in order, we’re back with an update as we now have our agenda in place. The team published it to our site last week, and you can see it for yourself on this very link!

We were delighted and honoured to receive a larger volume of abstracts than for any previous event, and the general feeling is that they were all of a really high standard – it is such a shame that we have to turn any speakers and sessions away.  However, we’re really proud of the agenda that we have pulled together – there is variety and quality in every slot!

As we try to achieve every time, we’ve got a little bit of everything for you…  From the ‘future of work’ to high-level management sessions, to the nitty-gritty fiddling with TDI settings for your perfect Connections deployment. Whilst the majority of sessions are running on our well-known 30 minute schedule, we are also continuing some of our innovations from the US event, and we have two blocks of the TED-style spotlight sessions that run for 15 minutes, as well as a number of longer, mostly very-technical sessions hitting the 60 minute mark. Come one, come all!

We’ve gone through the keynote speakers in earlier blogposts, please check back and read about them!

One thing that is new for this Social Connections is that we will hold a Connections Clinic in the sponsors area. Meet the people behind Connections, Docs and their Cloud offerings and ask them any questions you like – roadmap, deployment, customisation, adoption and more!

These two days in November are jam-packed, with an incredible 60+ sessions from some of the top names in the business, and we really want to see you be a part of it.

Register here (or via the form embedded below), and join us for 2 days of fun, socializing, extending your knowledge as well as your personal network.

As we say every time, we could not have done this without our sponsors, and we would like to extend the biggest THANK YOU to all of them for helping us put this together! If anyone is still interested in sponsoring the event, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. Check out this page for more info.

Also, we will in a very short timeframe announce our gala dinner for this year, don’t forget that one!

Hope to see you all in Stuttgart!

/Lars, for the Social Connections team!

The Social Connections 8 agenda has arrived!

News agenda, boston, soccnx by Lars Samuelsson

We are so super excited! Today we are unveiling the Social Connections 8 agenda for our event in Boston.

As you know from our previous announcements, we have keynote presentations by Suzanne Livingston and Ed Brill. We couldn’t be more excited by these well-known IBM big-hitters (and hugely respected supporters of the community) headlining our conference content.

That said, we have been absolutely blown away by the response to our call for abstracts, and can now formally declare that we will host a grand total of more than 60 sessions over the two days, a total of 57 speakers, including an incredible 17 IBM Champions.

We feel this is our strongest lineup to date, which feels extremely pleasing with our first trip to the US, kicking it off with a bang!

We’re covering everything from Case Studies and the brand new ‘Future of Work’ track, through to the nitty gritty details of how to configure your IBM Connections environment or start developing for the platform. Even better, we are thrilled to debut a new ‘Design’ track, staffed exclusively by IBM’s awesome design staff from the labs in the Boston area.  In short, there is something for everyone, and I can honestly say that we are so so proud to present this to you guys.

We’re not going to promote any specific sessions right now, apart from a call to check out the sponsor sessions.  After all, without their help we would have no chance of putting all this together!

If you haven’t taken a look at the agenda yet, do it right now! It’s here!

And if you like what you see… Register now!

Social Connections VI agenda announced!

News agenda, event, ibmcnx, schedule, soccnx by Wannes Rams

Prague-BannerColor-Final

Today, we are proud to announce the agenda for the upcoming Social Connections VI event in Prague on 16th and 17th of June.

Featuring a record 44 sessions over two days, we think this is more than likely the most comprehensive IBM Connections-focused event ever. In fact, the team received so many awesome session abstracts, we had to schedule a fourth room to allow us to accept more sessions than we otherwise could. Even then, we were forced to turn down a few that we’d have loved to see ourselves so we send our commiserations and apologies to those that submitted sessions and were not selected…

Here’s a high-level overview of the schedule for the event:

Monday 16th June:

Selected Highlights
09:30 Registration Opens
10:00 – 12:00 Optional Jumpstart: Introduction to Social Business (in Czech)
12:30 – 14:00 Lunch, meet the Sponsors and networking
14:00 – 14:30 Opening General Session
14:30 – 15:15 Keynote: IBM Connections “Next” is Here – Why It Matters! (Luis Benitez, IBM)
15:15 – 15:45 Leveraging Global CEMEX: a reinforced Global Networks Model to move from “Good” to “Great” (Luis Garza, CEMEX)
15:45 – 16:15 Break
16:15 – 17:00 Keynote: The IBM Social Mail Roadmap (HP Dalen, IBM)
17:00 – 17:30 Social Business Adoption in 5 easy steps (Alan Hamilton, IBM)
17:45 – 18:30 Speed Sponsoring
19:30 – 23:00 Evening Reception

Tuesday 17th June:

Selected Highlights
09:00 – 09:45 Keynote: IBM – Understanding the journey of becoming a Social Business (Chris Crummey, IBM)
09:50 – 10:55 Breakout sessions (4 rooms, 8 sessions)
10:55 – 11:20 Break
11:20 – 12:25 Breakout sessions (4 rooms, 8 sessions)
12:25 – 13:15 Lunch, meet the Sponsors and networking
13:15 – 15:05 Breakout sessions (4 rooms, 12 sessions)
15:05 – 15:20 Break
15:20 – 15:55 Breakout sessions (4 rooms, 4 sessions)
15:55 – 16:40 Pardon the Interruption (panel session)
16:45 – 17:30 Keynote: The Future of Work – Towards the Networked Enterprise (Luis Suarez, elsua S.L.)
17:30 – 17:45 Closing General Session

The idea is that those travelling from further afield can arrive on the Monday morning for a social lunch before the event formally kicks off at 14:00.

For attendees that are more local, there is a jumpstart session in the local language on the Monday morning, providing an introduction to Social Business for those that are new to this enhanced way of working.

We conclude the first day’s agenda with Speed Sponsoring and then an exclusive evening reception for all attendees (more details to come very soon!).

We are honoured to have four tremendous keynote speakers (Luis Benitez, HP Dalen, Chris Crummey and Luis Suarez) on the agenda spread over the two days – we’ll be highlighting each of their topics over the next few weeks.

On Tuesday, we kick off with Chris’ keynote, then go into a pretty intensive set of breakout sessions.

As before, the majority of the sessions at Social Connections VI will be just 30 minutes long, so we put the onus on our speakers to be fast-paced, concise, focused and most of all, exciting!  Why 30 minutes? The team love the TED-style of short sessions delivered by passionate and opinionated experts – we think it makes for a more interesting event.  With 8 breakout slots on the agenda, the shorter sessions also give each attendee a change to pick and chose a mix of sessions that works for them – we have tracks that cover management, case studies, administration and development so there should be something for everyone.

The day concludes at 17:45 so again, those travelling can hopefully get home on the Tuesday evening if they wish.  Of course, if anyone wants to make the event part of a longer, more relaxed stay in Prague, we won’t be surprised at all!  In fact, we have a special Social Connections ‘Tag It On‘ workshop taking place on Wednesday 18th June at the same venue.  Look out for more news later today…

For the first time, we have a full online agenda for this event allowing each attendee to create their own customised schedule which can be exported to their calendar.  It has a mobile UI option and a printable view, as well as listing all our speakers too.

So, two (or more) days in beautiful Prague, over 40 great sessions, brilliant IBM and community speakers, many IBM Champions, great opportunities for networking and social engagement, and much more besides.  Social Connections VI will be a super event, and thanks to our sponsors, it will be absolutely free to attend!

What are you waiting for? Register now!
